Dear Colleagues and Friends,
We would like to invite you to attend the 3rd International Conference on Computational Science and Engineering (ICCSE-2016) in Ho-Chi-Minh City, Vietnam on November 28th – 30th, 2016. The aim of the conference is to offer an opportunity for graduates, postdocs, and senior scientists in Vietnam and abroad to meet in an informal environment to discuss the latest advances in the field, to present their activities, to make connections, and to initiate cooperation. We will focus on four important areas of research:
1. COMPUTATIONAL BIOPHYSICS AND MEDICINE
Protein folding in ribosome; protein aggregation and related neurodegenerative diseases, metalloproteins, intrinsically disordered proteins, single-molecule manipulation, nucleic acids, drug design, biomembranes and other subjects in molecular biophysics, biochemistry, and systems biology.
2. COMPUTATIONAL CHEMISTRY
This section is jointly organized with the Vietnam Association of Theoretical and Computational Chemists (VATCC). It will cover the following topics: Implementation of new electronic structure methods; chemical bonding and concepts; determination of potential energy surfaces and reaction mechanisms and kinetics; atmospheric and environmental chemistry and simulations; treatment of excited states and determination of spectroscopic parameters; renewable energies (hydrogen storage, biomass); nanoclusters and unusual bonding phenomena and properties; solvent effects; polymers and solid nanomaterials, etc.
3. APPLIED MATHEMATICS
Variational Inequalities; Bilevel Optimization; Equilibrium Problems; Algorithms for Optimization; Metaheuristics and Optimization in Civil Engineering and Industry-Related Problems; Mathematical Methods in Operations Research including Modeling, Control and Optimization of Water Systems; Other topics related to applied mathematics and its applications.
4. ENVIRONMENTAL COMPUTATIONAL SCIENCES
Environmental Computational Sciences (ECS), which is combinations of computational mathematics, fluid dynamics, transport process, programming and high-performance computing (HPC), has grown from a mathematical curiosity to become essential tools in almost every branch of environmental sciences. This research topic is interdisciplinary, and attracts the scientists from different disciplines (Mathematics, physics, biology, environment, oceanography, water resources, computer sciences, etc.) to contribute. The conference track will offer an opportunity to exchange and discuss further on current trends in research and applications of ECS to real-world problems.
The program includes plenary lectures, parallel sessions with invited and contributed lectures, and poster sessions.
