HoChiMinh Communist Youth Union applied science and technology (S&T) solution to launch the Young Volunteer Scientific Program in 2017 aiming at solving problems in the lives of people in remote areas.

In the morning of 26 February, 2017, HoChiMinh Communist Youth Union held the Ceremony of launching the Young Scientific Volunteers - a typical activity in the month of 2017 with the theme "Ho Chi Minh city youth builds new urban and civilization together". In the campaign, young scientists will raise the spirit of volunteerism, bringing S&T knowledge to contribute to the process of building and developing the city, especially in remote and moutainous areas.

In 2017, the Volunteer Program of the Young Scientific Intellectual will apply research to address pollution in Binh Chanh District (Ho Chi Minh city); help people in Ly Nhon commune, Can Gio town to feed clean seafood; develop sustainable poverty reduction programs in the suburds.

In the year of 2016, the program conducted a total of 44 scientific research for 5,000 people; 50 science-based playgrounds and 20 knowledge-driven buses taking students to visit Agricultural Hi-tech Park of Ho Chi Minh City, repaired and donated 260 computers to units, disadvantaged areas and provinces such as Dak Nong, Kien Giang, Tien Giang, Tra Vinh, Quang Binh, Tay Ninh and suburban districts in Ho Chi Minh city.
