On occasion of the 85th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (26/03/1931 - 26/03/2016), ICST Youth Union held an activity at Cu Chi tunnels relic with the participation of all members.

At the first site, we were introduced to a unique system of tunnels in Vietnam War, winding more than 250 kilometers underground. It was dugged by only human power with rudimentary tools like hoeing blades.

After a short trial, we understood how difficult and challenging the life in the tunnels was. Then we enjoyed cassava, which used to be the main dish of Cu Chi's people during the long period of resistance.

The second site for the trip was Ben Duoc Temple, where 44,752 Vietnamese martyrs and heroic mothers were honoured.

The members ICST  Youth Union visited the central temple and burned incense to commemorate  President Ho Chi Minh, as well as other heroes and martyrs, for their great services for the country.

Coming back after an interesting history lessons, all of us was filled with emotion, respect and admiration for those who had sacrificed for independence and sovereignty of the country.

In the upcoming theme activities, ICST Youth Union is attempting to organize more excursions into historic places.
