This is considered a good tradition that the Trade Union of the Department of Science and Technology has done for many years. This year, the unit jointly organizing this humanitarian activity is the Institute for Computational Science and Technology.

According to Mrs. Chu Van Hai, the chairman of the Trade Union of the DOST, in 2015, the trade union of the Department implemented task to take care of life, be concerned about the public servants and officers who have difficult circumstances. From the trade union's funds, the support and donations of union members, the amount of money supported was up to 45 million VND.
Following that success, at the end of the year, 13 unionists suffering from dangerous diseases, having difficult circumstances continue to be motivated, encouraged by the meaningful gifts.
"The activity of taking care of Tet for the disadvantaged unionists and officers demonstrates the spirit of solidarity and mutual help of colleagues in the agency.
We hope that, thanks to these interests, the officers will be energized to overcome the current difficulties, stabilize their lives and continue working well. Always set your mind at rest as we are always beside you" - shared by Mrs. Hai.

Ms. Le Thi Thanh Thuy, working for Quality Measurement Standards Department, is one of the disadvantaged workers and employees. Having worked in the Department for 25 years, she has not run out of worries about her family background yet. She herself is often sick, but she is the main labor in her family with the responsibility of feeding her elderly parents who are over 90 years and often have to be hospitalized because of many diseases of the elder.
"There are many times it is so difficult that I think it would be impossible for me to overcome, but thanks to the encouragement of friends and colleagues, I have more strength to continue living.
Receiving the attention of the trade union and the colleagues, I am really touched. I will try to overcome the difficulties in all aspects, to continue the work, complete tasks and do my obligation as a child in the family" - said by Ms. Thuy.

Mrs. Chu Van Hai, the chairman of the Trade Union of the DOST affirmed that the unit will continue to maintain the movement "the leaves protect tattered ones" in the coming years and will continue to seek funding to better care for the lives of the disadvantaged officers.
