Academic exchange Environmental protection in estuary areas and modeling of coastal processes
On 24th October 2015, an academic exchange workshop named "Environmental protection in estuary areas and modeling of coastal processes" was organised at Victory Hotel (District 3, HCM City). This workshop was co-ordinated by ICST, HCM City University for Natural Resources and Environment (UNRE) and Nihon University (Japan).

Representatives from Nihon University included Prof. Kobayashi, Dr. Mikami, and Dr. Takaaki Uda Ts.Yasumitsu.

Invited guests including UNRE Vice Rector Dr. Hoang V. Tran, and Prof. Dr. Bay T. Nguyen from the University of Industry.

The workshop also called a great attendance of lecturers and graduate students from Oceanography Department, Physics Faculty (University of Natural Science) and Faculty of Civil Engineering (University of Science and Technology).

Thanks to the workshop, the participants had an opportunity to exchange experiences about scientific information on marine and island environmental management - a new research field in Vietnam. The discussions focused on topics such as environmental protection in estuary areas and coastal areas, impacts of climate change on estuary and coastal areas, modeling of coastal processes, and environmental risk management.
